About

Technically Outside is a place for thinking about technology beyond its usual frame.

Rather than treating technology in isolation, it looks at the worlds that form around it—the infrastructures that make it work, the organizations that adopt it, the rules and markets that shape it, the places it transforms, and the political and economic meanings it acquires along the way.

The idea is simple: to stay close enough to technology to understand what is changing, but far enough outside its frame to see what a technical perspective can leave out.
